ASW Distillery’s Fiddler Soloist Straight Bourbon Returns

ASW Distillery's Fiddler Soloist Straight Bourbon Just in time for National Bourbon Heritage Month this fine September, ASW Distillery has the long-awaited Batch 2 of Fiddler Soloist Straight Bourbon, the first straight bourbon ever distilled in Atlanta. (The term “Straight Bourbon” didn’t come into being until 2 years after Georgia instituted statewide prohibition in 1907.)

Master Distiller Justin crafted Fiddler Soloist Straight Bourbon on ASW’s double copper pot stills from 56% corn and 44% various malts, aged it in a combination of new char 3 & char 4 oak barrels, and bottles it at 100 proof for an exceptionally flavorful, unique bourbon that took home a Gold Medal at this year’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition back in March.

Bottles will be available for pickup at both locations (Distillery, 199 Armour Drive & Exchange, 1000 White Street), starting Sept 15.

And if you can’t make it to the distillery, Fiddler Soloist Straight Bourbon will be available at bottle shops all around the Metro Atlanta area beginning in late September.

More about National Bourbon Heritage Month
National Bourbon Heritage Month, celebrated every September, honors America’s “Native Spirit”—bourbon whiskey—as a cornerstone of U.S. history, culture, and craftsmanship. Established through a 2007 U.S. Senate resolution introduced by Kentucky Senator Jim Bunning, this annual observance builds on the 1964 Congressional declaration recognizing bourbon as a distinctive American product, produced primarily in Kentucky where 95% of the world’s supply originates. Enthusiasts mark the month by exploring distillery tours along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, attending festivals like the renowned Kentucky Bourbon Festival in Bardstown, savoring classic cocktails such as the Old Fashioned or Manhattan, and appreciating the rich flavors of corn-based mash aged in new charred oak barrels. Whether sipping a high-rye spicy expression or a smooth wheated bourbon, National Bourbon Heritage Month invites responsible celebration of this iconic spirit’s enduring legacy and economic impact.

More about ASW Distillery
ASW Distillery, Atlanta’s acclaimed hometown craft whiskey producer, stands as the most awarded craft whiskey distillery since 2018 at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition, boasting multiple Double Gold medals, Best in Class honors, and the 2020 Craft Whiskey of the Year for its Maris Otter Single Malt. Founded in 2011 by Jim Chasteen and Charlie Thompson, ASW pioneered post-Prohibition distillation in Georgia with innovative grain-in, double copper pot still methods that blend Scottish traditions with Southern flair, sourcing local ingredients like Georgia corn and hand-harvested oak for exceptional depth. The portfolio shines with standout expressions including Fiddler Bourbon series—known for creative finishes like toasted barrels and Georgia Heartwood—Resurgens Rye (Atlanta’s first rye whiskey since Prohibition), Duality Double Malt, and seasonal fruit brandies, all crafted across three vibrant Atlanta tasting rooms for tours, cocktails, and immersive experiences that celebrate bold flavors and whiskey craftsmanship.
