Oxford, Ohio – Registration for the 2025 U.S. Open Whiskey & Spirits Championship is officially open. Licensed distilleries are invited to register their entries by February 25, 2025. All submissions must arrive in Oxford, Ohio, between February 24th and March 7th, 2025. The medal winners and the Grand National Champion will be revealed on April 2, 2025.
About the Competition
The U.S. Open collaborates with the Niagara College Teaching Distillery for the final round of judging. This round is conducted by Niagara College instructors, distillers, and industry experts from the region. The competition is blind, ensuring judges evaluate entries without knowing the brand or distillery. Preliminary judging will occur at the U.S. Open Event Center in Oxford, while the final round will be in Buffalo, New York.

Entry Limit: Distilleries can submit up to 10 whiskies & spirits.
Entry Fee: $75 per whiskey or spirit.
Top Ten Eligibility: To qualify for the Top Ten Distilleries list, a distillery must submit at least four entries.

Awards and Recognition
This year’s competition includes over 30 categories and subcategories. Medals shaped like whiskey barrel lids will be awarded to the top three winners in each category. The Top 10 Distilleries will also be showcased on USWhiskeyReport.com. Furthermore, the prestigious Grand National Champion’s Cup will be presented, determined by a points-based system across all entries.
